Facial skin irregularities are mostly the result of sun damage, also called photoaging. Fine lines and wrinkles at the corners of the eyes and around the lips are commonly observed. Pigmented irregularities include keratoses or brown spots that may be sun or age related, and rosacea or fine blood vessels of the face, predominantly located on cheeks, chin and nose. VLS has multiple light and laser based technologies to appropriately treat those benign, undesirable skin imperfections that contribute to the appearance of premature aging.

These advanced light-based treatments remove areas of pigmentation while improving skin irregularities, leaving your skin smoother, more even in tone and more youthful in appearance. Three treatment sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart are recommended on untanned skin. A Zimmer cooler is used throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable.
Some areas of pigmentation require laser energy to ablate or remove undesired pigmented spots and blood vessels, including larger facial veins of purple to red hue, hemangiomas and some stubborn keratoses. This treatment may be used alone or in combination with IPL treatment for exceptional improvement.
This laser treats blood vessels of varying size and color. It has multiple spot sizes to correspond to various vessel diameters.

BOTOX® CosmeticFor the removal of dynamic wrinkles of the forehead, the glabellar lines between the eyebrows, and around the eyes, Botox® is the treatment of choice. Within a few days after injection, you will notice a rested-looking, smoother face, free of worry and frown lines. Effects last up to 4 months.
Skin folds and wrinkles caused by the loss of facial fat can be dramatically improved by injection of fillers such as Juvéderm® and Radiesse®. Plumping of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, particularly at the nasolabial folds between the sides of the nose and the corners of the mouth, gives a fuller, youthful appearance for six months to a year.
Radiesse® is an injectable implant material that can fill the lines around the face, especially the laugh lines. Unlike bovine collagen, no allergy testing is required. The material can be placed without any skin testing. Although slightly more costly than collagen, in the long term, less money is actually spent. Other applications for Radiesse® include filling out depressions and scars on the face. The correction achieved is both predictable and long lasting.
Facial veins and rosacea may draw uninvited commentary from outside observers and even friends. The common misconception is that of having a ‘drinking habit'. The reality is that the majority of facial blood vessels fall under the medical term rosacea, an inherited enlargement of tiny facial veins, causing overall redness and sometimes accompanied by acne. Other visible facial veins may be due to an overexposure to sun. These veins appear most notably around the nose and on the cheeks.
VLS offers treatment for these unsightly veins with Iridex® laser and Cutera® and Syneron elos® IPL. Veins of larger diameter respond very well to injection sclerotherapy. The result is of an overall decrease in redness and visible veins, but it is important to understand that rosacea is genetic and may require retreatment every few years.
